The priority at Darlinghurst Dental has been and always will be the health and safety of our patients and staff. The Darlinghurst Dental team has implemented a number of strategies, based on the current Federal and State government restrictions, within the practice to meet our priorities.
The main strategy is to only treat those patients who are not exhibiting any flu-like symptoms. We pre-screen all patients by telephone to ensure those attending the practice are not showing signs or symptoms. We limit the number of patients in the practice at any one time and have set up the reception area with social distance requirements. We take the temperature of every person (including staff) who come into the practice to ensure there is no fever. Each patient will be given a tote bag to place all personal items in which you can take home (reduces surface contact points).
Once in the surgery, each patient will be asked to use a specific mouthwash in the chair prior to treatment. Other clinical procedures such as using dental dams to reduce aerosols in the air will be used.
Whilst it is not possible to social distance when treating patients, we have implemented these enhanced infection control measures (transmission-based precautions in addition to the usual universal precautions) and the use of personal protection equipment (PPE). We remain vigilant as healthcare workers.
